
Shop Assistant / Cashier
Location: Umhlanga and Surrounding areas

Introduction
This position is responsible for delivering service excellence through efficient customer service, point of sale (POS) operations, and effective in-store merchandising. The goal is to contribute to a positive customer experience that aligns with the brand’s standards and values.
Job Description
Key Objectives
- Efficient execution of all operational activities at the point of sale in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accurate scanning of merchandise and processing of payments, including the application of ClubCard rewards.
- Safe and responsible handling of cash at all times.
- Active promotion of the Clicks ClubCard and recruitment of new members to support participation targets.
- Communication of in-store promotions to customers to enhance sales and reinforce the brand promise of “feel good and pay less.”
- Delivery of exceptional customer service by acting as a professional brand ambassador.
- Execution and maintenance of merchandising and housekeeping standards in accordance with store and visual merchandising guidelines.
- Support of the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice in health and beauty retail by demonstrating and upholding company values.
- Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge on products, ranges, promotions, and store events to assist customers effectively.
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Understanding of the retail and FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment, particularly in merchandising and promotional strategies.
- Familiarity with stock management procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service best practices and standards.

Minimum Requirements
Experience
- Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment is desirable.
Education
- Essential: National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Desirable: A minimum of 50% in both Mathematics and English at Grade 12 level
