
Specialist Interline and Code Share Analyst

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to achieve the maximization revenue from interline channels through relationships with interline partners to expand the Airline’s network pricing reach; to establish, manage and maintain effective relationships with partner and other airlines worldwide.
The incumbent will be required to provide support to the Alliances team by negotiating, concluding and implementing agreements and processes to provide competitive pricing in relevant markets and to support alliance and interline agreements.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist to identify and conclude effective and profitable prorate and interline agreements with airlines to access incremental traffic opportunities
- Implement Inventory Optimization strategies, plans, actions, methodology and tactics to capture such traffic
- Develop and implement revenue plans to maximize interline revenue performance
- Assist the Alliances team in delivering alliances revenue performance to achieve the Airline’s strategic objectives from partnerships
- Develop, maintain value-generating relationships with interline, affiliate and strategic partners for revenue and for accessing incremental revenue sources
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Liaise to coordinate activities directed at achieving and optimising interline, network and alliances revenue performance
- Participate in trade meetings
- Build a high profile amongst industry peers to ensure that the Airline remains at the forefront interline knowledge
- Assist coordinating SPA, Interlining and Alliance pricing activities with internal stakeholders (Alliance team, Sales etc.) and partner airlines
- Ensure effective relationship with Sales offices worldwide to coordinate interline revenue generating strategies and actions
- Assist in communicating relevant interline and pricing information to users and stakeholders
- Execute interline/alliance relationship management and Inventory Optimization strategy
- Represent the Airline at IATA working groups to promote the Airline’s interline revenue performance mandate
- Implement prorate agreements, interline agreements, and competitive fare products, conditions and rules in line with the Airline’s Inventory Optimization strategy
- Identify profitable opportunities for expansion or revenue improvement for the Airline regarding interline pricing and airlines with whom it should develop relationships
- Implement the Airline’s worldwide interline and alliances Inventory Optimization strategies
- Monitor for variances between the Airline’s competitive positioning and the interline strategies and plans and recommend corrective action as required
- Deliver fares to market in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
- Analyse existing agreements and identify revenue improvement opportunities
- Assist providing insight into interline market dynamics and the Airline’s competitiveness and trading performance
- Provide relevant, accurate and on-time reporting on revenue and interline performance to management and key internal stakeholders
- Utilises resources in area of responsibility

- Maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships through appropriate relationship building and networking

- Engage in trend analysis, benchmarking, research, best practice to support optimisation of department
- Manages projects to contribute to the optimisation of the department/ division
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree/ diploma/ applicable IATA qualification and/or 5 – 7 years’ experience in relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in Fare construction principles
- Understanding and ability to read and interpret airline tickets will be an advantage
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrate experience and expert knowledge / skills of airline prorate agreements as well as demonstrate efficiency in analytic and problem solving techniques
- Knowledge of the markets within which the airline operates
- Thorough knowledge of Multilateral Prorate Agreement and its effect on airline revenue
- Filing of Chart 2 SPA booking classes in ATPCO and to ensure SPA partners filed their booking classes of the agreed SPA
