Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to provide assistance in performing a diverse range of advertising duties in order to achieve business growth.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Control promotional/advertising activities relevant to the department
  • Brief creative work to DTP teams via Integrator system
  • Populate and manage Integrator effectively and correctly
  • Check leaflets/press/POS with the DC and agency teams to ensure that all the material is correct and accurate before signoff
  • Confirm artwork from DTP Operator and send back to print
  • Sign off all required leaflets, POS, Press, Digital and forward to printers
  • Order any required point-of-sale
  • Manage deadlines to a strict Critical Path
  • Maintain the Corporate brand image of SPAR on all media platforms.
  • Generate SAP Purchase order numbers and GRV of invoices.
  • Control administration and coordination within the advertising function.
  • Involvement in and support of all Sponsorship related initiatives and events.
  • Any other ad hoc functions as required of role or by management.

Minimum requirements

  • A Marketing Degree / diploma
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a marketing or advertising role with a focus on business analysis and strategy
  • Knowledge of the following systems is advantageous – Integrator, Insight
  • Computer literacy is essential (MS Office with Intermediate level of Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A high degree of confidentiality, emotional maturity, ethical values, and integrity
  • Must have a high stress tolerance and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong numeric skills and sound financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues and with external customers and retailers in a team orientated manner
  • Precise planning and excellent organisational/administration skills
  • Exceptional accuracy and extreme attention to detail
  • Must be easily adaptable to job related demands, customer focused and have sound problem solving skills
  • Reliable deadline management with flexibility to adapt to CPA requirements
  • Quality orientated and self-driven to achieve results
