Empowering Township & Rural Economies

The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI), in partnership with KZN Department of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), KZN Department of Social Development (DSD), and Human Capital Learning Solutions (HCLS), invites applications for a Cellphone Repair Training Programme aimed at equipping unemployed individuals with practical, technical, and business skills.

Requirements

  • Be a KwaZulu-Natal resident
  • Be unemployed with a valid South African ID
  • Have Grade 11 with Mathematics 40%/Mathematical literacy 50%
  • Successfully complete the pre-assessment
  • Priority will be given to women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

  • 3 months of virtual mentoring and coaching
  • to help you start and grow your business.

Programme Details

  • Dates: 23 February – 20 March 2026.
  • Duration: 4 Weeks (Monday to Friday).
  • Venue: 190 K.E. Masinga Road, MKRI Offices, Durban.

This programme represents a significant step toward self-employment and technical mastery for KZN’s unemployed youth. By providing both the skills and the physical tools required for the trade, the MKRI and its partners are creating a sustainable pathway into the modern workforce.
