About Group Human Capital (HC)

The Employment Relations Practice sits within the Group HC space and is responsible for providing advanced or specialist employee relations support for Old Mutual Limited. The practice equips and supports line managers and Human Capital management to effectively engage with employees through contracts, policies, practices and processes, in the context of labour legislation. It also partakes in actions related to risk management and technical training. The Practice also ensures that sound employee relations within Old Mutual and its associated companies are fostered, particularly with the trade unions and employees at large.

Key Result Areas:

As a Graduate Intern within the Employment Relations field you will be exposed various parts of the practice area including:

  • Administration related to ER and EE functions
  • Management of the ER calendar in respect of the engagement forums
  • Secretariat and logistical functions in respect of the engagement forums
  • Communication with unions and internal stakeholders
  • Case management for the legal advisors
  • Training
  • Support with CCMA matters
  • Support the ER team with any ad hoc requests

Requirements: Skills, Qualifications, Experience required:

You are a driven and ambitious top achiever with strong determination to succeed. You are a motivated individual and a self-starter.


You must meet the following criteria:

  • A recent graduate with a completed Degree in Human Resources or Law
  • Must be a South African citizen
