Minimum Requirements
- Matric or National Senior Certificate required.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- 2-3 years of experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and shipping software for data entry and tracking.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment.
- Basic math skills for shipping cost and quantity calculations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new shipping processes and technologies.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected shipping challenges.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations is an advantage but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and coordinate shipment orders with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and manage shipping and commercial documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.
- Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring products are received and dispatched without damage or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders to schedule timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels to support seamless order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to address shipping-related inquiries and resolve issues.
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to facilitate smooth loading and unloading of shipments.
- Arrange necessary customs documentation and ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or delivery delays efficiently.
- Continuously assess shipping processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
