Social Auxiliary Worker. Khulisa Social Solutions – Gauteng seeks to employ a Social Auxiliary Worker for the VEP program, to be based at Moffatview Victim Friendly Room (VFR).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct intakes with victims of crime and violence accessing the VFR.
- Provide basic counseling to victims of crime and violence.
- Facilitate referrals and follow-ups on clients.
- Render support services to the social worker with respect to case management
- Plan and conduct educational and preventative awareness campaigns in the community in line with the VEP calendar.
- Compile monthly reports for submission internally and externally to the funder.
- Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives
- Act as an ambassador of the programme and as an advocate for victims’ rights
- Attend relevant stakeholders forums for purposes of networking with other service providers who share similar goals
- Engaging in continuous research with the objective of improving service rendering.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work and current registration with SACSSP.
- Should reside within the vicinity of Moffatview or closer to the area.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a similar environment.
- Basic understanding of the Domestic Violence Act 116 of 1998 and its amendments and other relevant legislations.
- Good communication and relationships building skills
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Good report writing, case management skills and committed to continuous professional development.
- Displays high level of professionalism
