
HIVSA is recruiting for a Nurse, based in the North-West Province.
Main Purpose of the Nurse Role
The Nurse is responsible for the integration (creating linkages) of community and clinical service delivery
with a focus on improving results towards “95-95-95” cascade.
The role also includes C/ALHIV case finding, recruitment and enrolment, which includes retention,
monitoring, tracking, verifying and validating all C/ALHIV. The Nurse also ensures the program meets the
PrEP and HTS targets.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or a National Diploma in Nursing, or an equivalent, covering
maternal health, child, and community health. - Registered with Nursing Council of South Africa.
- Certification in facilitation would be an advantage.
- NIRMART Certificate would be an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in community-based nursing.
- Must have experience in a primary health care, clinical or community setting.
- Sound knowledge of HIV and Antiretroviral education.
- Sounds knowledge of Prep activities.
Competencies / Skills / Attributes / Knowledge:
- Understanding and knowledge of the South African social services and healthcare delivery
system. - Demonstrated working knowledge of South Africa’s health and social service information
systems and monitoring and evaluation processes. - Sound understanding and support of Monitoring and Evaluation requirements and reporting.
- Strong supervision and mentorship skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and work towards deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and communication skills, both written and verbal
Working Environment:
- The role is based in the North-west province, the incumbent may be required from time to attend
meetings at HIVSA’s Head Office located in Aeroton, Johannesburg. - Support program teams based in other regions as and when needed.
- Follow a hybrid model of remote and office-based attendance as per company policy.
- Participate in high level on-site based activities to support program and implementation which
include donor or other stakeholder site visits. - May be required from time to time to travel to events outside of the normal office environment.
- May be required from time to time to participate in events and sessions outside of normal working
hours.
Additional Organizational Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license required.
Key Performance Areas
Financial Management – Develop a quarterly plan of resource requirements for each sub- partners
and request payments monthly to implement treatment literacy groups and PrEP demand creation
and submit to the PHVP Community Health Linkages Project Manager for approval.
Stakeholder Engagement and Management – Set-up and maintain collaborations with all facilities,
DSP’s and relevant sub- partners within your allocated catchment area to ensure smooth bidirectional referral take place.
Product and Services – Capacity building of sub-partners on all health and clinic related guidelines
and services:
- C/ALHIV enrolment, service delivery, adherence support and retention
- Quality service delivery of PrEP and HTS
- Documentation, reporting and recordkeeping.
- Management of data quality
Internal Organisational Processes – Conduct RC duties when required.
- Work closely with Social Worker’s, other Nurses and M&E Officers to avoid program clashes.
People Culture – Provide guidance and supervision to Linkages offices and conduct performance
management of them.
