Playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our schools by securing vital funds for innovative programs, state-of-the-art facilities, and exceptional faculty development. Cultivate relationships with major donors who share our vision for educational excellence. Lead the development and execution of strategic fundraising campaigns, ensuring we reach ambitious financial goals. Become a champion for our schools, raising awareness in the community about the transformative power of education we provide.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations that are interested in giving and cultivating those relationships
- Develop a comprehensive data base of alumni for a structured bequest programme
- Identify potential significant donors who have not previously donated or made bequests
- Effectively convey the Rondebosch Boys’ schools’ mission, vision, and programs to potential donors
- Write grant applications and fundraising proposals
- Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns
- Liaise with the schools marketing departments where required
- Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met
- Ensure that consistent messaging is conveyed to alumni and major donors
Qualifications and Requirements
- A seasoned fundraising professional (minimum 5 years’ experience) with a proven track record of success in exceeding financial targets.
- An individual with exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to inspire generosity in others.
- A strategic thinker with a passion for education and a strong understanding of the educational landscape.
- A collaborative leader and team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track-record of designing and implementing fundraising, marketing and communication strategies with the ability to drive performance and innovate.
- Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
- Excellent administration and organisational skills including the ability to manage budgets and financial information
- Highly organised with strong leadership skills: able to work well under pressure and manage conflicting priorities to meets tight deadlines.
- A confident, flexible, agile team-player who is self-driven and highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to implement systems and processes.
